Senior Manager, Scheduling (Poultry) (Finance)
Creates and maintains a valid master schedule for raw materials and plant capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for product. Oversees Master Schedule for all Finished Good Items.
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Exempt position.
Strategizing production assets in the short term gearing up for promotional demand activity and long term seasonality. Identifying operational opportunities and risks and presenting them effectively in order to drive the right decisions from stakeholders. Key involvement in providing data for the white meat sales strategy. Leading a cross departmental team while working Improved Business Intelligence using higher level Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Manages the activities of production, inventory & logistics planning with contract manufacturers. Leading a cross-departmental team, while extending planning processes for dark meat and International business.
Responsible for raw material production and procurement planning to support finished goods production plan. Acts as a liaison between plants/operation units and sales, related to commodity sales and procurement activities. Key contributor in information for decision making on new business opportunities covering the 0 to 3 month horizon.
Analyze and organize a master schedule. Analyze the demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out of balance conditions, identifying alternatives, and recommending action for approval. Works with sales, marketing, demand management, and operations management to better understand competitive lead times as well as lead times to the customer. Summarize daily and weekly master schedules for released and firm planned orders and compare these to the production plan to ensure that the master schedule is within S&OP guidelines and policies. Facilitates the duties/responsibilities of the Raw Material Coordinator and/or the Associate Master Scheduler, Master Scheduler and Supply Chain Intern
Extensive knowledge of planning and processes. Demonstrate knowledge of poultry processing operations. Have working knowledge of and participate with Supply Management in the Sales and Operations Planning process. Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load leveling, etc. Conduct rough cut capacity planning prior to publishing a master schedule in which significant changes have occurred. Lead initiatives to identify and mitigate out of balance conditions at all the Further Processing Plants finished good and portioning lines.
Communication. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to effectively deal with internal and external customers in a positive manner. Communicate issues with supply management, demand management, operations management, and plant detail scheduling departments at all times, including after normal scheduled working hours. Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising integrity. Develop working relationships with operations, demand, and supply management.
Manages employees. Directs and supervises employees' work activities and monitors work performance. Collaborates with Human Resources to screen, interview and hire candidates. Administers disciplinary actions and recommends performance improvement actions in collaboration with the HR Manager. Monitors work performance and recommends compensation decisions based on guidelines. Follows Simmons values to develop and maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees. Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.
Travel: Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites, possibly requiring overnight stays. Will be required to work any hours as needed.
Technical Experience: 6 years poultry processing/sales/marketing experience.
Industry Experience: 3 years experience in Master Scheduling with a preference in Poultry Planning.
Minimum Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Poultry Science or related field, or 4 years related work experience.
