POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Academic Services Administrator (ASA) plays a pivotal role within the college as the staff lead for the graduate and undergraduate programs. This position is responsible for managing the hiring, assignments, and support of adjunct personnel and graduate teaching assistants. This position is integral to the recruitment and retention efforts of adjunct faculty and ensures the smooth operation of academic programs by supervising academic support personnel and coordinating handbook updates. This position is a hybrid position with the expectation of in office 2-3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Adjunct Faculty
Hiring and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for adjunct personnel, ensuring a seamless integration into the academic environment. This includes coordination with the Clinical Affairs team.
Assignment and Placement: Coordinate the assignment and placement of adjunct instructors to appropriate courses, aligning their expertise with curricular needs.
Evaluation : Coordinate evaluation process of adjunct faculty, share feedback and provide support to foster their professional development.
Academic Program Coordination and Supervision
Student Handbook Updates: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to update and maintain undergraduate and graduate handbooks, ensuring they reflect current policies and procedures.
Scheduling Team: Participate as a member of the assignment and scheduling team, contributing to the efficient allocation of teaching resources.
Coordinate textbook ordering process.
Supervision: Oversee academic support staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
Graduate Teaching Assistants
Hiring: Manage the hiring process for graduate teaching assistants, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
Collaboration with Other College and University Units
Data Projects: Work closely with the Assessment and Evaluation team and ASA direct reports on various data projects, ensuring the accurate collection and analysis of academic performance data.
Hiring: Coordinate with HR to ensure completion of mandatory trainings by adjunct faculty.
Faculty visits: Serve as back up for Chief of Faculty Relations for teaching faculty interviews.
College Events and Marketing: Work as a liaison between the College Events Manager and Marketing team and the educational programs and concentrations to fulfill requests for stakeholder participation and engagement.
Consistency Across Programs: Collaborate with Nurse Anesthesiology staff to support program consistency and ensure adherence to institutional standards.
Development and Oversight of Academic Affairs Budget
Budget Planning and Allocation: Working with academic affairs leadership, ensuring that the budget is planned and allocated effectively to support the academic goals and objectives of the unit.
Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor the budget to ensure that expenditures are within the allocated limits and reporting any discrepancies or issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a masters degree in education, or a field of study related to the academic program and one (1) year of relevant academic experience, or a bachelors degree in those same fields with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements:
Six years of direct experience for a masters degree.
