Defined Contribution Analyst I (Finance)
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the day-to-day business operation of the PERAPlus 401(k) and 457 Plans, and the PERAChoice Program. Responsibilities include ensuring employer and member compliance, and serving as a resource to employers and members for the PERAPlus 401(k) and 457 Plans and the PERAChoice Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicates program information with members and employers in writing, verbally over the phone, in one-on-one appointments and group meetings, both in-office and out-of-office
Utilizes analytical reasoning skills and proactive research methods to verify plan choice elections, eligibility, and accuracy of data/system coding according to PERA statutory rules and plan design
Researches and resolves problems exercising limited discretion or judgment in certain areas governed by federal or state statute, PERA Rules, or the 401(k) and Defined Contribution Plan and Trust Document
Ensures employer compliance with statutory and Rules provisions governing the Plans
Ensures issues with employer reported problems with PERAPlus 401(k) and 457 Plans or the PERAChoice Program are addressed
Communicates program information in writing and verbally over the phone with the Plans' record keeper
Ability to organize and track participant and employer issues over time
Responsible for data entry, information retrieval, and peer review
Participates in training and educational opportunities for ongoing professional development
Maintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplace
Carries out other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education and experience equivalent to three years of benefits administration
Strong verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex compliance questions and effectively communicate results
Ability to deal with sensitive and/or confidential information and situations in a professional manner
Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple interruptions on a daily basis while maintaining a high level of accuracy in work product
Highly detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for math
Ability to prioritize, organize, and work with minimal supervision
Capable of working successfully both independently and within a team-focused environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related business software
Ability to travel overnight on a limited basis
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard environment with telephone communication, computer operation, and other office machines
Occasional travel by car or plane as necessary for business purposes
Occasionally moving and positioning supplies in excess of 20 pounds
HYBRID WORK OPTION
Opportunity to work from home up to two days per week. Eligibility dependent upon factors detailed in PERA's Work from Home Policy.
