Assistant Director, Marketing and Communication - Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (Finance)
Responsible for developing and managing a broad range of highly responsible communications support through writing and editing, counsel to faculty, staff and execute leadership and/or publications management and/or management of health communications/education programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for overall project management, tracking budgets, timelines as assigned, and evaluation of project work.
2. Reviews vendor marketing proposals and purchases, and sets goals for the department.
3. Manages and leads all internal and external event organization.
4. Conducts interviews with faculty, staff, and other appropriate sources, such as donors and patients, sometimes concerning sensitive information.
5. Works with executive leadership to develop and communicate strategic messages.
6. Generates and enforces brand standard ideas for communication strategies and develops related promotional plans, tactics and materials.
7. Writes news and feature articles for publication, and handles commercial video field production.
8. May interact with corporate or community representatives.
9. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
None
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
Minimum Experience:
Six (6) years of experience in public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
