Your Role: Health, Safety, and Environmental Associate
Reporting to the site Director of HSE, this position supports the site's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across all functions including operations, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure site compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Areas of emphasis include: hazard evaluations and change management, ergonomic assessments and corrective actions, industrial hygiene, and biosafety.
Your Responsibilities:
Drives site incident investigation program by working with key stakeholders to identify root cause and corrective actions.
Develops, implements, and maintains HSE Standards and Procedures in all aspects of HSE to ensure site compliance with applicable regulatory and business requirements.
Prepare compliance reports for federal, state and local regulatory agencies and Elanco Corporate.
Performs audits and inspections to measure effectiveness of HSE programs and implements corrective actions and program changes, as needed.
Helps lead Safety Lead Team and site Biosafety Committee to drive a safety culture that aligns with Elanco's Code of Ethics and is focused on proactive safety and education.
Performs hazard assessments and ergonomic evaluations to identify areas of risk, helps implement actions to minimize that risk, and supports site environmental programs including supervising hazardous waste activities at the site.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
Experience leading teams or training teams (either formally or informally)
What Will Give You the Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Degree, certificate, or relevant work experience in Industrial Hygiene and/or Biosafety
Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
Background or working knowledge in biology, microbiology, epidemiology, or biosafety.
RCRA and DOT Certifications
