Corporate Program Associate Director (E5888) (Administrative)
Job Summary The overall purpose of this position is to support IEEE's corporate programs, including the strategic activities of the IEEE Technology for a Sustainable Climate Matrix Organization and its corresponding programs to lend subject matter expertise and support of strategic direction. This individual will contribute to additional committees and programs as assigned that will include all aspects of program strategy and support of volunteer leadership, coordinating volunteer and staff activities to support IEEE's program. They will serve as the expert on program strategy, goal setting, and success measures. The position reports to the Director, Corporate Activities and functions largely independently as an individual contributor.
Key Responsibilities
Program management of Technology for a Sustainable Climate Matrix Organization (TSCMO), driving with expertise on climate change efforts; with program support of Corporate Activities initiatives as needed.
Coordinate climate change efforts among IEEE Organizational Units; work with staff and volunteer leads to ensure outreach to IEEE OUs continues, and that the database of IEEE climate change efforts is updated regularly
Coordinate efforts for external presence, including COP; coordinate IEEE's presence at COP and work with staff and volunteer leads to identify external opportunities, with outreach as needed to industry, governmental, and non-profit organizations, for cooperative efforts
Work closely with IT Project Manager and IT professional staff as needed on technical requirements for program innovations and content generation, including but not limited to the expert database, web presence, AskIEEE, app, newsletter, and website scraping for content. Generate ideas for technical efficiencies to maximize impact of content.
Work closely with vendor to manage web presence, app, social, and newsletter content for program to ensure content is reflective of IEEE offerings. Ensure timely and relevant public facing content on web, app, newsletter, and social media.
Coordinate items and reports to IEEE Board of Directors TSCMO progress; work with staff and volunteer leads to ensure Subcommittee meets all deadlines and addresses volunteer leadership feedback
Identify additional external partners as needed, including industry, governmental, and non-profit organizations, for cooperative efforts.
Development and maintenance of the business plans and necessary documentation as needed
Prepare and speak to presentations to support TSCMO activities
Integrate the work of previous Ad Hoc efforts into TSCMO to bring recommendations to the Board of Directors
Engage with volunteers and staff on designing agendas, creating meeting presentations and materials, and drafting meeting summaries and action items for working groups under matrix organization
Engage with internal and external subject matter expertise as needed, convening appropriate parties to meet goals and resolve issues
Engage external contractors as needed to support matrix organization deliverables
Outreach as appropriate with IEEE staff to coordinate matrix organization deliverables and provide expertise to meet goals and address roadblocks
Support matrix model; maintain key governance documentation and reporting on success metrics of the model as needed
Provide input on the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete program deliverables
Contribute to other departmental projects as expertise is needed.

Skills and Requirements
Work Experience
7-10 years related work experience required
Project management experience; Previous management-related association experience and a track record of successful project management experience
Must have experience with financial reports for projects
Experience with Project Management Software (i.e. MS Project) preferred
Skills and Requirements
Ability to multi-task and comfortable working under tight deadlines on both individual and team-based projects.
Proven ability to manage all related contractors ensuring that all obligations, and deadlines are met.
Familiarity climate change efforts globally
Ability to understand complex verbal and written user business requirements and translate those into well-written clear proposals, requirements, specifications documents & project plans.
Available for occasional travel to events and meetings. Estimate 4-6 times per year.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Strong skills in working with spreadsheet analysis & databases preferred
The individual must have excellent communication and motivational skills which will be used to enable and empower volunteer committee efforts in support of assigned projects.
Must be able to negotiate with and manage vendors.
