JOB SUMMARY
The Health Federation seeks a qualified, reliable, and detail-oriented individual with a background in community health, relationship-building, and project support to serve in this part-time position.
The Project Assistant will work with the Integrated Peer Models for Health (IPMH) team on a program funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. This program supports capacity-building within the North Philadelphia Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ) to benefit populations facing multiple barriers to health and well-being, including mental health and/or substance use challenges, social drivers of health, and chronic disease.
The Project Assistant will primarily work with our Peer Models for Health Learning Collaboratives, a professional development-focused community for Community Health Workers/Peer Professionals and their supervisors.
To be successful, this individual must have experience as a community health worker or peer support worker within clinical or community-based settings. They must be very organized and skilled in professional communication, able to work collaboratively, eager to learn, and willing to engage in public speaking.

Work Environment: The Project Assistant will work in a 60/40 hybrid format (60% of the time in-office and 40% of the time virtual) and will report to the Health Federation of Philadelphia, 123 S. Broad Street, Suite 650, Philadelphia, PA 19109. Various meetings and training will be scheduled off-site throughout the City of Philadelphia.
Position Type and Work Schedule: Part Time, 30 hours per week (benefits eligible). Standard hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Project Assistant's specific schedule will be determined and immortalized during onboarding. Flex office schedule options available with supervisor approval.
This project is currently funded until April 2026.
Travel: Some local travel to meetings and events at various sites may be required each month. Candidate must be able to travel within Philadelphia effectively and surrounding counties via public transportation and/or in their own vehicle.
Physical Demands: This position requires someone who can transport materials and move equipment or supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
