HR Manager (Project Management)

As the California HR Manager at Hall's Culligan Water, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and compliant work environment across our California dealerships. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable leader with a strong background in employment law, exceptional people management skills, and a passion for driving HR excellence. The ideal candidate will excel in navigating California labor regulations, implementing effective HR policies, and supporting employee engagement and development initiatives.

Reporting to the HR Director, this role will lead the charge in fostering a compliant, inclusive, and dynamic workplace. Your insights, expertise in California employment law, and leadership will shape our journey forward by setting benchmarks and achieving milestones that align with our strategic HR objectives and values. This position is based in California and will require occasional travel to support and engage with our teams in person.

Responsibilities:
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new California HR Business Partner staff as needed.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the HRBP department, specific to our California region.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations on all assigned HRBP staff.
• Consult with and provide support to managers and supervisors regularly on employee relations matters, including addressing workplace concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and promoting a positive work environment.
• Provide guidance on performance evaluations, coaching techniques, disciplinary actions, and strategies for fostering strong, productive team dynamics.
• Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to employee relations.
• Lead HR functions for the California HRBP's including, but not limited to, development and implementation of HR policy and procedures, performance plans, new hire orientation, and employee terminations.
• Partner and collaborate with the business to ensure delivery on shared goals.
• Develop and grow manager skills and capabilities through continuous training and coaching, creating manager resources/guides.
• Consult with and provide employee relations support to managers, supervisors and employees to ensure complaints, performance management, corrective action and disciplinary actions are handled in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner.
• Manage, compile and analyze data. Send accurate reports and communication to various groups of the organization.
• Consult with area leaders, managers and staff on all HR matters.
• Develop and maintain reputation as an approachable HR professional able to balance employee advocacy responsibilities.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in an HR discipline, preferably specific to California.
• Outgoing, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude that easily adapts to change.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive, effective relationships at all organizational levels.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task, plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Strong process improvement, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to consult with area leaders, managers and staff on all HR matters.
• Ability to work independently with minor direction.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to different personalities, styles and circumstances.
• Strong knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
• Strong computer skills: Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

• Ability to travel within the state of California as requested.
