NDT Level II (Engineering)
This position uses NDT methods to test and/or accept materials, products, components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the technical NDT operations in the methods certified and capable of assuming the NDT staff's technical responsibility. Capable of providing necessary guidance and/or supervision of trainees and Level I Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT methods. Confers with engineering personnel to resolve problems relating to specifications and review test plans such as types of test cycles, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of the testing. Examines parts to specifications. Monitors controls and instruments and records test data. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes. Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Have knowledge of Design software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
NDT Level II Certification in Radiographic Testing is required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to move throughout the shop floor. Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
While on the shop floor, you must wear safety glasses.
