As a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at The Forest, you'll play a key role in our retail dispensary, ensuring smooth operations and compliant distribution of cannabis products. You are a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional passionate about patient care. You excel at educating, consulting, and ensuring compliance with inventory, security, and regulatory protocols, helping create an outstanding patient experience while supporting business goals. What You'll Do: · Patient Consults: Provide patients with accurate product recommendations, dosing, consumption methods, and product details. · Patient Care: Assist patients with questions, concerns, and complaints, adjusting recommendations and/or dosing based on patient feedback. · Team Training: Train team members on product knowledge, ensuring they provide proper recommendations to patients. · Cannabis Knowledge: Deepen your understanding of cannabis products, dosing, drug interactions, side effects, and the efficacy of different strains and delivery methods. · Store Operations: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all federal and state laws. Oversee inventory audits and dispensing operations. · Inventory Monitoring: Assist with inventory forecasting, product intake, and maintaining systems for regulatory reporting and sales analysis. · Patient and Physician Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with physicians, patients, politicians, and professionals in the community · A Pharmacist-In-Charge is required by law to always be physically present in the medical cannabis pharmacy while it is open to the public. · The medical cannabis pharmacy cannot open without the supervision ratio of PIC to pharmacy agents that results in, or reasonably would be expected to result in, an unreasonable risk to harm to public health, safety, and welfare. · No medical cannabis or a medical cannabis device can be sold to patients unless the PIC is physically present and immediately available. · Must conduct an audit of the medical cannabis pharmacy's daily inventory at least once a week and an annual comprehensive inventory of products. · Determine and specify dosage forms or dosing parameters for patients. · Verbally offer to a patient at the time of purchase face-to-face counseling. · Fill recommendations for a medical cannabis treatment at the request of the qualified medical provider who issued the medical cannabis treatment recommendation to a medical cannabis cardholder. · Supervise all deliveries and be present to accept all deliveries. · Work with the State's Inventory Control System and Electronic Verification System.
Qualifications:
· Experience within the cannabis industry is preferred · Knowledge of the cannabis plant and benefits is highly preferred · 5+ years of management experience is preferred · Certified Registered Utah State Pharmacist · Pharmacy management experience is required · 5+ years of pharmacy experience · Experience working in a heavily regulated industry necessary · Strong leadership skills, ability to build and manage teams · Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations · Ability to remain compliant with all applicable laws as well as company SOPs and guidelines · Ability to communicate effectively via, email, phone calls, text, or any other methods frequently used within the company · Proven track record of management in a high-paced, high-volume retail operation preferred · Basic computer skills (i.e. email, excel) · Data-driven · Customer service experience for the time that you will be working at our pharmacy · Ability to stand or sit for 8-12 hours
Must be a Utah licensed pharmacist or a physician who has the authority to write a prescription and is licensed and registered with the Utah Department of Health. PICs must understand the efficacy of variance strains, potencies, and methods of delivery.
PICs must complete continuing education as a condition to registration from the Department of Health or an accredited or approved continuing education provider that the Department recognizes as offering continuing education appropriate for the medical cannabis pharmacy practice. May not have been convicted under state or federal law of a felony or a misdemeanor for drug distribution. Any past investigations or adverse actions taken by any licensing jurisdiction, government agency, law enforcement agency, or court in any state for any violation or detrimental conduct in relation to you must be disclosed.
