Job Title: Director of Quality Operations

Reports to: VP, UGG Product Development

Location: Goleta, CA or Portland, OR

The Role

The Director of Quality Operations Is the primary point of contact for product quality for all Deckers brands, global markets and operations team members.

Partnering closely with the sourcing and operations quality teams to create a globally unified quality organization, constantly striving to represent the voice of the customer, balancing product excellence demand with manufacturing efficiencies to meet the consumer need.

Your Impact
The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

• Understanding how our product delights, disappoints and disillusions our customers and consumers.
  • Consolidating customer and consumer quality related feedback into actionable product improvement opportunities being delivered up and downstream.
• Managing and resolving quality issues across our global marketplace and operations distribution centers.
  • Efficiently driving closure to validated quality issues from Markets and consumers.
  • Validating, assessing scale and severity, aligning upon root cause and action plans and leading communication of issue status across the Brands, Markets and Operations teams.
• Leading in a global matrixed organization.
  • Constructively leading brand, operations, markets and supply chain key stakeholders through the quality issues management journey.
  • Taking a leadership role in creating and evolving a unified global quality organization
• Defining and or evolving product excellence related systems and tools.
  • Establishing and implementing or evolving the "one version of the truth" quality related operating platform and supporting tools & approaches.
• Educating and training.
  • Continually calibrating to the Brand, customer, consumer and Supply Chain need.
  • Sharing quality related knowledge to enable up and down stream continuous improvement

We'd love to hear from people with

• 15+ years progressive experience in the footwear industry for a global company. Preferably Athletic / technical performance and lifestyle.
• 10+ years in a quality related leadership role within the footwear industry for a global company.
• Proficient in understanding quality audit processes and approaches
• Proficient in understanding global compliance demands.
• Proficient in understand material physical properties, application specificity and commercial risk management.
• Proficient in understanding product construction and product performance attributes.
• Proficient in understanding cultural differences and using them as enablers.

$185,000 - $195,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
