POSITION SUMMARY:
This position specializes in financial reporting and analysis, fiscal resource management and budget analysis. It is specifically responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and administration of the USF Morsani College of Medicine's faculty compensation plan. The position evaluates faculty compensation strategies, new faculty hire compensation and development of new faculty pro formas. Working across all levels of the organization, conducts internal evaluations and assessments to ensure compliance with the faculty compensation plan. In collaboration with department representatives, aligns faculty compensation between the budget and payroll applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements and evaluates physician compensation models which align with financial and organizational objectives and incentivize physician performance where needed in specialties that are new or where there are specialties not covered by other compensation plans.
Understand the new affiliation agreement between USF Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital and how it impacts the funds flow between the two organizations. Work with the finance team at USFTGP (joint venture) to help reconcile the funds flow with the faculty compensation plan and overall UMSA budget.
Reconciles budget to actual financial information, particularly with faculty compensation. Ensure departments are properly utilizing and aligning fund sources with assignments. Responsible for maintaining a database for faculty compensation that combines data from multiple sources.
Prepares and develops financial budgets and forecasts, budget control processes, and works with management on financial planning and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Work with department administrators on payroll related changes. Conducts analyses with university stakeholders. Supervise finance department interns as applicable.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with at least five years of experience in a business analysis or project management role. Or a Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
A Masters in Business or Health Administration is preferred, along with a strong analytical skill set. The ability to deal with large amounts of data and distill it down to usable information. Experience in both higher education and healthcare is a plus.
