The Behavioral Health Clinician provides comprehensive MH & SA/SUD services to adult and/or adolescent clients seeking treatment services at the outpatient center. The Clinician provides initial program orientation to clients presenting for treatment of Substance Use Disorders and related personal problems. Clinician assesses clients' treatment needs and assists in developing appropriate individual treatment goals.
Provides group, family, and individual therapy, skills-based training and education to clients and their families/significant others. Designs therapy and education services that meet the individual needs of the client. Educates families/significant others on the addiction and recovery process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive mental health and addictive disease assessments for consumers seeking treatment services.
Provides short term individual & group therapy to adult clients with MH &/or AD diagnoses. Must be skilled in diagnosing, treatment planning and utilization of evidenced-based practices. Conducts Assessments, treatment planning for clients with SPMI &/or AD/SUD.
Provides crisis intervention, suicide prevention, treatment and discharge planning. Applicant must maintain clinical documentation in a manner that satisfies agency and insurance standards, CARF and other required standards for justification of treatment and financial reimbursement. Monitors client progress and compliance with the service plan. Submits all documentation w/in 24 hrs. Meets all agency quality measures, including monthly billing requirements.
Provides triage services as needed to facilitate necessary services such as inpatient hospitalization, when indicated. Executes the legal forms required for involuntary commitment
Utilizes the interview information to complete a comprehensive assessment of needs, level of care, and initial treatment recommendations
Provides initial program orientation to persons presenting for treatment of addictive diseases to identify substance abuse issues and related personal problems.
Writes clear, concise, complete, grammatically correct, and timely progress notes that relate directly to the treatment outcomes described in the service plan (24 hour documentation).
May serve as case manager to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage and continuity of care between consumers and other treatment team members.
Educates families/significant others on the addiction and recovery process.
Establishes linkages and coordination of services with community agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed in the state of Georgia OR Master's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND associate licensure in the state of Georgia OR Master's degree in a related area from an accredited or university AND full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia
Preferred Qualifications:
LCSW or LPC with 1 years of experience working in a clinical counseling/social work setting
Experience with providing treatment for mental health, Alcohol and Drug services to Adults/ Children/Adolescent population
Use of Care logic Electronic Health Records
Experience in trauma-informed care, or trauma related interventions and skill.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
