We are looking for a Full Time Bus Driver!
SUMMARY: The Bus Driver has a primary responsibility with ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the residents while transporting to and from activities and/or appointments inside and outside of the community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties as assigned. 1. Safely transports residents to and from outings, medical and/or various appointments outside of the facility in a timely manner so appointments are kept, while ensuring safety of residents transported.
2. Communicates with facility via radio/cellular phone to ensure residents are dropped off and picked up accurately.
3. Ensures the bus always has sufficient fuel.
4. Reports immediately any accident and or incident(s) involving the bus.
5. Assists in maintaining bus in safe working condition, performing minor repairs as needed and reporting needed repairs to Executive Director. Maintains the bus in a neat and orderly manner.
6. Assists residents onto and off of bus, utilizing ramps, wheelchair tie-downs, and other equipment safely. Reports immediately any accident/injury a resident and/or employee may experience during the course of transportation.
7. Assists in transportation training of other staff or volunteers.
8. Assists with various community activities as needed.
9. Complies with the facilities privacy practices/procedures and all state/federal privacy laws as outlined by HIPAA related to resident and employee records, to include but not limited to information accessed through any company web-based system and/or electronic medical records.
10. Demonstrates teamwork and prompt and regular attendance to work to ensure that quality care and services are provided to the residents we serve.
11. Complies with and adheres to the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the Bloodborne Pathogens Standards. Protective Personal Equipment (PPE), including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, extremities, protective clothing, and protective shield and barriers, will be provided, used, and maintained.
12. This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 75 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months experience transporting persons and/or training preferred. Meets state and federal requirements. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Good-standing and current Operator's License. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
