Your Team & Role
The Global Technology & Operations (GTO) at Prudential is seeking a Director, Solution Architect (Cloud/Infrastructure) with a background in the insurance and financial industry to join our Architecture team. The candidate should have experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure, and possess relevant certifications. The role involves defining cloud-native patterns for serverless architectures and consulting with the Cloud team on cloud infrastructure deployments. The individual should understand business fundamentals, Information Technology, native Cloud hosting within AWS and Azure, and networking concerns, and be able to take a comprehensive approach. This position will also develop, drive, and maintain enterprise infrastructure patterns, processes, and roadmap.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
Provide solution architecture consultation and support for initiatives and product teams, while educating business and technology communities at all organizational levels on infrastructure architecture, including patterns, standards, trends, opportunities, and challenges.
Demonstrate a talent mindset by advocating for architectural transformation, influencing its adoption, and driving modernization goals across the enterprise.
Apply expertise in current and modern patterns and practices across the infrastructure domain.
Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) in AWS and Azure to validate architectural patterns and cloud solutions.
Stay abreast of the latest trends in artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and generative AI, incorporating relevant insights into cloud solutions.
Review use cases and SaaS / Buy solutions in the Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB) to ensure solution alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
Implement DevOps best practices for CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), including experience conducting POCs and solution validation.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and methodologies for automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python.
A solid understanding of primary enterprise infrastructure components, including network elements, servers, storage, databases, virtualization, and containerization.
In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, cloud governance, and cloud security best practices.
Experience in cloud solution architecture and guiding development teams to migrate applications from on-premises to the cloud.
Proven ability to develop cloud strategies and reference architectures is crucial.
A deep understanding of AI/ML and generative AI trends and their impact on cloud infrastructure.
Experience in reviewing and evaluating Buy solutions within EARB to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
Experience with web development frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js).
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Strong communication skills are needed to influence technology decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Cloud certification (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
