Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent.
Skill(s): Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; knowledge of postage machine and mail operations; moderate computer skills; ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.
Experience: None required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support mail room operations and the transporting of bank-related materials; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Essential Duties
1. Performs a variety of duties to support mail room operations and the transporting of bank-related material of which the following are illustrative:
a. Sorts and delivers incoming bank mail to the appropriate department or person.
b. Gathers, sorts, and processes all outgoing mail.
c. Packs and prepares all mailings; delivers packages to Post Office or other locations.
d. Provides courier service between offices on a scheduled basis; handles collection and delivery of supplies from the main office to the community offices
e. Collects community office mail and other items; delivers to main office.
f. Monitors inventory and orders all supplies for the postage machine.
g. Places service calls regarding mail machine maintenance; documents calls in service log.
h. Runs daily mail machine reports; resets mail machine date at end of each day.
i. Prepares spoilage postage report; forwards to Post Office for refund.
j. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
3. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
4. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.
5. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
7. Maintains working inventory of all bank supplies; fills and delivers departmental requisitions on weekly basis. Reports order points and anomalies to Purchasing Agent.
Ancillary Duties
1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
