TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Specialist to Congestion Pricing Systems team based in downtown New York.
Job Summary: The Systems Specialist will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and configuration of TransCore Congestion Pricing and Tolling software systems and lane equipment. Working under general supervision, this role requires a strong technical foundation to support system setup, maintenance, and audit initiatives. The specialist will provide technical support and troubleshoot moderately complex system issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Additionally, the Systems Specialist may contribute to training efforts for other team members, including System Specialists, Image Reviewers, and MMC staff. This role involves determining key monitoring requirements for congestion pricing and tolling systems and may include supervising or providing functional guidance to junior staff or interns.
Pay Range: $28.85 - 32.70/hr. based upon skills and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs general problem-solving and assists with software applications and hardware systems for TransCore Congestion Pricing Software Users and the MMC Team.
Provide exceptional phone and email support to our customers experiencing software or hardware-related issues within our Tolling Software.
Provide individual and group instructions and training on tolling software and hardware to faculty, staff, and interns. May lead junior staff and interns performing the same or similar type of work.
Performs varied technical assistance and maintenance duties; configures, maintains, and updates the TransCore Tolling system; documents projects; and creates and maintains user instructions and troubleshooting tips in a shareable knowledge base.
Performs moderately advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing to ensure proper system upkeep; may troubleshoot and resolve somewhat complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
Participates in reviewing, evaluating, and recommending hardware, software, and network solutions.
Participates in research and development initiatives and assists in implementing new technologies.
Serves as a primary project member on technology projects with moderate scope and impact; may provide guidance and integration of other staff work.
Might be on call on weekends and night as support needs arise.
Maintains currency of knowledge concerning technology, equipment, and systems.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Qualifications / Education:
Ability to work evening shift.
Knowledge of various computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
Software Testing and Test Automation experience.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
Computer literate; Windows, troubleshooting skills, good writing, communication, and customer service skills.
Associate degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
3 -5 Years of relevant experience.
Experience in the Tolling field.
Physical Demand:
Minimal physical effort is required.
Work is typically performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Occasional field service work to maintain or test tolling equipment.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and standing and walking an average of four (4) hours daily.
