Nurse (Night Shift) (Healthcare)

Choate Rosemary Hall has an opening for a Registered Nurse for the night shift. The Registered Nurse performs pediatric nursing duties for our Boarding School Health Center, ensuring compliance with physician's orders and established health care policies and procedures. Our 11-bed Health Center is home to students with injuries, infectious disease, chronic illness, and other health problems and may also receive students returning from travel, and/or for emergency services. The Health Center is open 24 hours/day during the academic year and when summer school is in session.

This position is full-time, scheduled to work the academic year and during summer school for the night shift: The hours are three 12-hour shifts, 8 pm -8am, with flexible rotation: Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. It is a non-exempt position and eligible for benefits and paid time off. Shift differentials paid for evening, night, and weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Triage and assess students who may need admission to the Health CenterProvide emergency first aid and prepare students for urgent care referralAbility to work independently and in consultation with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and Director of CounselingWork in partnership with community safety officers and school employees to receive students who may need admission to the Health CenterRegularly communicate with student families and school employees as neededComplete electronic health recordsMaintain inventory and stock levels for health center materials and suppliesAssure quality control for all CLIA-waived tests and lab equipment, including ordering and maintaining tests and equipmentChange beds, provide clean linens and towels, set up and ensure that Health Center rooms are clean and welcomingMaintain organization of kitchen and provide nutrition to studentsPrioritization of health needs of admitted students
