Sr. Manager, Channel Marketing - Travel & Leisure (Finance)
Location: Any core US office; preference for Chicago or New York.
As a leader on the channel marketing team, this person will be an expert in the on-premise. Defining strategy, programming and execution for our commercial organization. Leading our organization in creating customized experiences within the travel & leisure space that connect our consumers and customers with our impactful brands.
The Sr. Manger, On-Premise Channel Marketing - Travel & Leisure, will be responsible for translating executional standards by channel, identifying needs, and adapting execution in the on premise. In addition, working closely with the strategic accounts commercial team to develop customer-specific programming to support and enhance the consumer experience. Ultimately, creating demand and driving market share growth of Suntory Global Spirits business through best in class on premise partnership and execution. The position will report to the Director, On-Premise Channel Marketing.
Role Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in brand building, on-premise sales and travel & leisure customer engagement, as this role melds program creation/ideation with brand teams and commercial implementation. This is customer, SGS sales & brand marketing-facing, the ideal candidate must have cross functional experience and the ability to influence and collaborate across a variety of audiences.
This person will also have had experience briefing agencies, navigating large budgets, presenting to senior leadership and working with advocacy and trade teams. They will also have experience working with syndicated data sources and turning insights into action. Ideally a balance of strategic, creative, and commercially grounded thinking - providing innovative solutions.
Role Responsibilities:
• Act as a on premise leader and key team member within the organization; developing and implementing the channel standards of execution.
• Working closely with global and US brand teams to translate plans into programming for key markets, channels and customers through a strategic on-premise lens.
• Drive engagement and usage of actionable category insights and industry trends focused around the on-premise channel strategy.
• Build strong relationships with influential on-premise travel & leisure channel/groups and provide unparalleled customer-focused brand solutions through marketing programs, insights and drink development.
• Act as the brand marketing liaison across strategic accounts commercial teams to drive on-premise priority brands into programming and own a consistent feedback loop incorporating best practices and brand learnings.
• Successfully building marketing plans against key customer objectives with commercial sales, leading RFP response in answering against promotional deliverables.
• Influence and interact closely with wide cross-functional business partners (On-Premise, Sales, Strategy, Commercial Excellence, Commercial Marketing, Field Marketing, Legal, Insights, and External Agency Partners).
• Work closely with the global mixology team to answer against customer RFP's, and seed new trends and rituals.
• Work with BI Analyst and strategic accounts sales to set budgets and allocate funds according to brand/customer priorities, and properly monitor the progress.
• Be a self-starter who can work independently while maintaining attention to detail to deliver consistent, high-quality documented results
• Drive the mantra of the right brand, the right account, the right occasion within the team in order to enhance occasion-based programming grounded in the on premise channel strategy.
• Understand seasonal and cultural rituals within the 'gemba' loop in order to provide insights teams with the seeds of data to build customer-based solutions
• Work closely with Customer Solutions and Consumer Insights to assess the opportunities in the channel and identify the 'size of the prize' for channel based programming and cocktail rituals.
• Oversee best in class execution of marketing programming within the accounts. Ensuring each team's initiatives and customer plans are fully achieved.
Qualifications
The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $120+ | based in Chicago, IL, is $115K+, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate's location, experience, and skillset .
