Position Overview:
The Crewing Coordinator is responsible for managing the scheduling, onboarding, and coordination of personnel in Central Store. This role ensures that the right number of qualified staff is available to meet production and project requirements while adhering to company policies and industry regulations while overseeing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and managing the plant chemical system.
As a Crew Coordinator, you will:
Key responsibilities for the Crewing Coordinator:
- Staff Scheduling: Maintaining crew schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels for all operational areas.
- Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including training, orientation, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members, addressing questions, concerns, and providing updates scheduling and operational changes.
- Procurement: Source and purchase of maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, including tools, parts, and maintenance materials, from various vendors while ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI): Oversee the Vendor Managed Inventory system, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of materials and supplies while optimizing inventory levels. Generate reports to analyze trends to make informed decisions.
- Plant Chemical System Management: Manage the chemical inventory and usage within the plant, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper handling procedures.
- Purchase Card Management: Oversee the use of purchase cards for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, ensuring proper documentation, timely reconciliation of transaction, and compliance with company policies.
- Data Management: Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels, usage rates, and order histories, generating reports to analyze trends and inform purchasing decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with department managers and HR to identify staffing needs and ensure that crew members meet the necessary qualifications and training requirements.
- Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, vendor negotiations, and inventory optimization.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to the procurement and handling of maintenance, repair, and operations supplies.
- Housekeeping: Maintain an organized and clean workspace for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, ensuring that all areas are safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Highly desirable skills with Excel
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of Vendor Management Inventory systems and chemical management best practices.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations supply chains and procurement best practices.
- Ability to lift moderate weights up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that may require standing or walking for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to machinery and industrial conditions.
