The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Human Resources Department is hiring a Leave Administrator who will ensure compliance with all federal, state and corresponding Bank policies pertaining to leave, disability, and workers' compensation by serving as a resource to both employees and management.
Key Activities:
Counsels employees regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Bank's leave, disability, and return-to-work programs. Obtains and evaluates required leave paperwork, medical certifications, and return-to-work notices and determines eligibility, handling the highly sensitive information in a confidential manner. Follows up with medical providers regarding incomplete or unclear medical certifications. Distributes approval notices to employees; monitors related absences; and, if applicable, coordinates temporary work assignments and contacts benefits provider to initiate disability benefits.
Serves as a resource for department management to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, leave and disability related laws and regulations, as well as Bank policies and procedures, to minimize risk.
Works with Human Resources management and Legal staff to identify legal implications related to leaves of absence and disabilities; investigates and compiles reports on work-related accidents and injuries. Coordinates post-accident care for injured employees; ensures proper procedures are followed; approves and tracks lost time; and works directly with insurance carriers to initiate benefits, provide information, and resolve problems. Works with employees and department management to coordinate restricted duties to ensure prompt rehabilitation and cost containment.
Maintains broad knowledge of Bank policies related to leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and/or disabilities.
Tracks annual physical testing and/or preventative treatment and coordinates scheduling with department management, employees, and occupational health clinics to comply with OSHA and/or System standards. Receives and reviews results for compliance with standards, communicates results to department management, and recommends appropriate action for results in noncompliance.
Completes ad-hoc projects, such as compiling data for vendors or management, implementing new work processes, or participating in Bank or System workgroups.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Experience with determining eligibility for leave, applying leave and disability related laws and regulations (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, PFWA, LTD, Workers' Compensation, etc.), and interacting with medical providers and related vendors is strongly preferred. Experience with Workday and Excel are a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience.

Location: Hybrid – Kansas City, MO (minimum of 50% monthly)
Pay Range: The starting pay range for this position is $60,800 to $90,000 for the job level(s) required for this position. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate's qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
