Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 (Houston, TX 77041) (Engineering)
Travis Body & Trailer, Inc. is seeking motivated and driven students to join our team as Manufacturing Engineer Interns for Summer 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in manufacturing or industrial engineering to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment.
As an Engineer Intern, you will work alongside our experienced engineering and operations teams to learn about manufacturing processes, quality control, production flow, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Support production teams in troubleshooting process-related issues.
Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and process documentation.
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement projects.
Engage with production staff to learn daily operational challenges and support solutions.
Prepare and present a final project/report summarizing key learnings and contributions.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Strong interest in manufacturing processes and operations.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
