Assistant Teacher Early Learning - Logan County Full Time (Education)
Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.Assists the lead teacher in supervising and implementing the curriculum including leading activities and assisting with lesson planning and assessments.Establishes relationships with families, staff and community partners. Greets each child and parent daily; communicates often and professionally with families, staff and children.Maintains program environment and equipment, assists with cleaning.Conducts informal and formal observations of children to inform curriculum and assessments.Offers children appropriate affection, verbal praise, and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for behavior; sets firm limits with positive phrasing and actions when necessary.Assists in ensuring program's compliance with all YMCA, SUTQ, ODJFS licensing, grant and NAEYC requirements.Assists with establishing and monitoring individual child goals.Maintains prompt hours and follows procedures for absences.If applicable, complete duties as required by the Child and Adult Care Food program.Establishes, maintains, and provides documents needed for OPDN registry profile and licensing.Attends all staff meetings, specialized training and safety training.Participates in special events.Assists in recruiting children for the program and helps maintain required enrollment numbers.Assists with obtaining necessary paperwork from families.Assists Lead Teacher in meeting all classroom requirements.Professionally represents the Y at local elementary schools.Assists in administering required screenings.Maintains confidentiality with all student and school records.Enters data as requested by the Lead Teacher or Director.
