The Human Resources Representative provides comprehensive support in the areas of employee relations, compliance, and other related human resource activities. This position will office in Houston and provide support for Eastern Region Human Resources. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partners with assigned client groups to provide guidance and assistance with employee transfers, promotions, terminations or other employment actions
Handles incident investigations and counseling employees and managers on employee relations issues, employment law compliance and other employment issues
Provides guidance and recommendations in disciplinary/corrective action and performance improvement plan.
Prepares and processes employment actions including but not limited to new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other related transactions
Conducts New Hire Orientations in person or via Microsoft Teams
Maintains appropriate records in compliance with internal and external requirements
Provides reports as requested
Demonstrates ability to adjust communications/influence style to effectively communicate with employees at various levels of the organization
Stays informed of employment laws and general employee practices
Assists with investigations or other employee relations matters as requested
Provides assistance with special projects as assigned
Establishes and maintains effective relationships within HR and other company groups
Provides back up support for other areas of Human Resources as necessary
Interprets company policy and provides consultative support and counsel to management
Handles other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
College degree and/or PHR/SHRM certification preferred
3 years of Experience in Human Resources is required
Experience in the energy and/or oil and gas industry preferred
Experience with Oracle's Human Capital Management systems preferred
Experience presenting to groups in a workplace setting
Demonstrated knowledge handling employee relation issues and complaints and coaching managers to a successful resolution
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position
Ability to remain flexible and shift priorities quickly
Demonstrates sound judgment
Ability to deliver results while working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Customer-service focus; ability to interact professionally in a helpful and professional manner
Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook
