Communication & Marketing Officer (Finance)
The Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD), reporting to the Division of Student Success, is the university's centralized career planning and employment assistance service for USF students and alumni. The programs in the CCPD are designed to help students and graduates assess, explore, develop, and implement their career goals, gain employability skills and career-related experiences, prepare for a successful transition into graduate/professional school or the labor market, and connect with employers to obtain part-time jobs, internships, cooperative education, and professional employment. CCPD holds the values of community, excellence, integrity, service, and well-being at the core of all we do.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and Marketing, the Communications and Marketing Officer will create and implement a marketing strategy for Career Services. This is a professional communicator role requiring training and experience in written communication as well as design expertise. Writing assignments include the preparation of copy and design elements for marketing and promotional materials in print and digital formats. Responsibilities include the development and presentation of content for use in print publications, videos, websites, email campaigns, social media, and various multimedia formats aimed at varied audiences. This position will work with and in conjunction with the creative guidelines set forth by the University of South Florida.This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Marketing, Mass Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or advertising with two years of experience in related positions and a portfolio of work; or a Master's degree in the same fields.The University of South Florida is a high-impact global research university dedicated to student success. - Design and create marketing collateral to support programs in Career Services. This will include signature events, employer spotlights, event series, social media content, advertisements, office collateral, and guides/handbooks. Receive bids for print/collateral and work with vendors to purchase.
- Create and lead social media strategy and email campaigns. This includes content and efforts to increase engagement.
- Work across teams of Career Services to ensure all communications about events and programming are consistent and marketed effectively.
- Update and contribute to content for the Career Services website including banner ads, RSS feed monitoring, and general content following university standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
