POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Family Medicine at USF Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full time faculty member in the position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Applicants must be board certified in Family Medicine with an interest in full time and full scope family medicine (without OB). This position will balance between growing and managing an outpatient panel as well as full participation in the inpatient hospital rotation, working with medical students and residents, and participation in education and research activities as assigned by the department.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Full Professor.
• For Associate/Full Professor: Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals.
• Board of Certification in Family Medicine, Understanding of the academic medicine and faculty participation in the education mission of health professions,
• Current, or eligible, for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Florida

• Clinical Duties: Outpatient and inpatient assignment will be designed to support the needs of the department with up to 12 weeks of inpatient coverage and the remainder the outpatient clinical setting.
• Teaching Duties:Assist with teaching in both the graduate medical and undergraduate medical programs, precepting, and participate In lectures or other teaching duties as assigned.
• Administrative Duties:Clinical administrative duties such as note dictation, patient phone calls, and record management.
• Research:Engage in research within the department, bringing opportunities and engaging in existing projects.
• Other duties:As assigned.
• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.Responsible for academic advising and related activities.May represent the university, college/school, or department.
