The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPS)at the College of Pharmacy, University of Houston invites applications for a full-time Researcher Natural Science position in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. The primary responsibility is to lead the day-to-day effort in conducting research in the lab as the researcher scientist for the research group; will participate in conducting experiment, sample collection and analysis, data analysis, prepare manuscripts, present at conferences, and participate in grant writing in the areas of LCMS analysis of disease biomarkers, proteinomics and metabolomics in preclinical and clinical samples.
The researcher scientist is expected to perform all duties described in the assigned projects, including skills but not limited to (1) develop LCMS global and targeted proteomic and metabolomic workflow for research projects in the lab, and involved in the set-up of high throughput quantitative proteomics/peptidomics platform* (2) Performed proteomics/peptidomics based technique for cancer biomarker discovery study by using multiplexing of Tandem Mass Tags labeling approach; (3) Conducted the proteome/peptidome differential profiling, including cell-surface, media, cytoplasm and nucleus from different cancer cell-lines; (4) Developed the matrix preparation for MALDI-TOF imaging analysis of tissue in preclinical and clinical settings; (5)train, supervise, and mentor graduate students, when required; (6)present research at national and international meetings.

6. Mass spectrometry (MS) techniques: electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometry (APCI-MS) and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS).
Qualifications:
Master degree with wet lab research experience in an academic or industry setting. Strong academic and research training directly related to High resolution MS and protein quantitative analysis and proteomic analysis are desirable. Experience in laboratory animal handling and experimentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master degree in medicine, pharmacy, or other relevant fields with 5 more years of proteinomics experience in an academic or industry setting.
