The Senior Labor Relations Specialist is responsible for fostering productive relationships with labor unions and ensuring the effective administration of labor contracts in alignment with UC Health's mission, values, and goals. This role serves as a key liaison between management and the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA), American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), and the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (OPBA) representing approximately 2,140 union members. The position is critical in contract interpretation, grievance resolution, negotiations, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
3-5 Years equivalent experience

Grievance Handling & Dispute Resolution
Investigate and resolve grievances, ensuring adherence to contractual procedures and organizational policies.
Represent UC Health in grievance hearings, mediations, and arbitration proceedings.
Advise and support managers in handling workplace disputes, disciplinary actions, and labor-related concerns.
Partner with legal counsel and HR teams to mitigate labor relations risks and ensure fair, consistent dispute resolution.
Maintain organized documentation and case records to track grievance resolutions and arbitration outcomes.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Track and analyze labor relations metrics, including grievances, arbitration outcomes, and union trends.
