Maintenance Technician (Maintenance)
Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements including Food Safety and GMP's as well as meets all company corporate requirements related to quality and all safety programs. Employee is responsible to report Safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption to production or services to our customers.
Works safely in accordance with company's safety program requirements.
Abides by all Good Manufacturing Practices, Dress Code and General Housekeeping Guidelines outlined in Employee Handbook.
Wears all required personal protective equipment (PPEs)
Understands the purpose and function of all employees in the shop and works as a team.
Maintenance and/ or replace machine components like motors, sprockets, gears, valves, linkages, etc.
Wire electrical panels and field components.
Perform machine set-up and timing adjustments.
Troubleshoot product material quality issues and mechanical/electrical problems.
Work with other departments: Engineering, Machine Shop, Assembly, Parts Room, Welding and Service.
Assist in other facilities when required like Machine Shop, Olson, North Plant, etc.
Perform task that require the operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, manlifts, dollies, etc.
TRAINING REQUIRED BEFORE STARTING WORK IN THIS POSITION
1. Good Manufacturing Practices.
2. Food Safety.
3. Proper Lifting Techniques.
4. Use of PPE
5. Lock out/Tag out (LOTO)
6. Safety training documents for individual machines, tools and processes (band saw, drill, etc.)
OTHER DUTIES
Other duties may be assigned as required by position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency or 1 year of general work experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must be Mechanically inclined; ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Experience with hand tools, power tools and general understanding of complex machinery like industrial equipment, automobiles and/or farm equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to read and understand technical documents like assembly drawings, parts lists. Must be able to visualize the placement and location of components based on 2D and 3D drawings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus and recognize color.
