Senior Design Manager-Alternative Delivery (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Desing Manager-Alternative Delivery with experience in alternative delivery projects to join our Atlanta based team. This position will be part of our design and engineering team and will primarily focus on complex transportation and mobility improvement projects that are being delivered through alternative delivery process including design-build, design-build-finance (P3) or CMGC/CMAR. This position will have the opportunity to work on both owner-side and contractor side opportunities with focus on developing design that improve functionality, constructability and minimized impacts to surrounding areas.

As a Senior Design Manager-Alternative Delivery, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of design and engineering as well as familiarity with local, state and federal project development processes to deliver project success for Arcadis and our clients. You will have the opportunity to coordinate all aspects of project design with various disciplines and will work closely with the Project and/or Program Managers and Commercial Manager to ensure the successful completion of the projects within the established budget, schedule, quality, and safety parameters.

Additionally, you will support mentoring and coaching of junior staff to improve their design knowledge and knowledge of alternative delivery process.

Role accountabilities:

• Serve as Senior Desing Manager and oversee technical delivery aspects for alternative delivery projects.

• Contribute to the overall success of projects by facilitating cross-discipline coordination, review, and monitoring quality processes.

• Lead a diverse team of technical subject matters experts in to ensure tasks and designs meet client's expectations, standards, schedules and budget expectations.

• Participate in design meetings with clients and internal personnel to support program/project delivery.

• Conduct technical reviews of contract documents, technical requirements, and reference documents.

• Work with the Project Director / Program Manager and various discipline leads to develop design delivery plan and track project progress including any scope deviations.

• Serve as Engineer of Record on projects on select projects which detailed design oversight responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 years of overall design and design management experience with significant focus alternative delivery projects.

• Prior experience as a technical lead in State Department of Transportation Projects.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering etc.)

• Professional Engineer License in GA or ability to be certified within 6 months of hire

• Demonstrated ability to work with local, national and international design teams to deliver complex alternative delivery projects.

• Demonstrated ability to work with and understanding of contractor clients both during tender phase as well as detailed design phases of design-build and alternative delivery projects.

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

• Excellent management skills to support the management of Arcadis and sub-consultants.

• Develop/implement innovative design solutions.

• Development of Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) for review and approval by owners

• Represent the company to internal and external clients.

• Motivate, and build staff into a cohesive team to achieve project goals and objectives.

• Strong Mentoring and Leadership skills to facilitate Team Development requirements.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $126750 - $211250. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
