Operations Specialist (Finance)

The Operations Specialist position is located at 5611 S 12000 W Road, Herscher, IL 60941. Primary Purpose: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipelines (both transmission and storage field systems), compressors and auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, dehydration equipment, process equipment, valves, seals and other related equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation of compressors, engines, auxiliary units, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, seals, valves and related equipment
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling process variables, such as pressure, temperature and flow rates to efficiently achieve desired operating results
- Start, stop and operate engines/pumps and other equipment to maintain designated operating parameters
- Assist in the planning and performance of maintenance and repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, auxiliary equipment, pumps, process controls, and related equipment
- Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all gas processing units and associated equipment
- Monitors quality of product to ensure meeting specifications and takes appropriate actions when out of specification product is identified
- Communicates with company gas controllers, business groups and other operating groups as necessary
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed
- Identify report and correct safety and environmental concerns
- Trains company and third party personnel as required
- Represent the Company during contacts with landowner/tenants and public officials/emergency officials
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements
- Work a rotating shift
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork
- Actively participate in safety and security program and initiatives
- Participates in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans
- Help in the development of Site Specific Procedures
- Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- High School degree or equivalent Experience / specific knowledge
- Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software)
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
- Knowledge of operating and best practices associated with the equipment in area of responsibility
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties and applicable to the job classification
- Completion of any site specific technical training may be applicable
- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment
- Detailed knowledge of compressor/pump station, storage field, and processing plant operations
- Detailed knowledge of gas and liquid processing theories and fundamentals
- Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs on compressor engines, pumps, process facilities and associated equipment
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems
- Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements

- Must be able to frequently, enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist (occasional)
- May work in low-lit areas
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high and low pressure systems
- Knowledge in analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs on compressor engines, pumps and other associated equipment
- Knowledge of pipeline or compression experience
