ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housing Assignments Coordinator works closely with other professionals in Housing and Residential Education (HRE) to administer and manage the housing and residence education program serving over 6,400 on the Tampa campus and 200 on-campus students in Sarasota/Manatee. This position has primary responsibility for managing the on-campus housing assignments processes, room selection processes, room transfer process, as well as general development and operation of the StarRez Housing Management System (StarRez) for populations including, but not limited to First-Time in College, Returning students, Transfer students, and special populations in housing. This position will primarily service a range of residential populations and campuses. Some evenings and weekend work, required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Occupancy Management
Oversee daily management of on-campus housing assignments processes including residence hall assignments, room selection processes, room changes, space management, etc. for non-program specific populations
Maintains accurate records of affiliated property's occupancy rosters.
Works with department and campus partners to coordinate ADA assignments for students with special accommodation needs.
Developing reports, forecasting, and anticipating trends
Develop custom reports and queries for individuals, departments, and outside entities.
Assist with the coordination of all occupancy, usage, and reporting efforts for the Office of Housing and Residential Education, including identifying trends, projections and
forecasting of future housing needs.
Serves as an administrator for StarRez application and processes.
- Make recommendations for improving areas of efficiency, sustainability, training, and automation.
- Trains users and functional teams in the StarRez modules in which they work. This occurs on a one-on-one, departmental, and inter-department format.
Engagement
Approach service delivery and office operations in a friendly, positive and professional manner.
Research and respond to complex inquiries from students, parents, and campus partners in order to provide or clarify information on Housing & Residential Education services, options, programs, policies or procedures.
Serve as a secondary supervisor for student assistants (performing a variety of roles and functions, i.e. Office Assistant,
Desk/Reception, Summer Call-Center, etc.).
Conduct presentations and staffing the resource table about on-campus housing for new student events.
Participate in various internal and external meetings related to occupancy
management
Participate in after-hours rotation for assignments related issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of customer service experience; or a Master's degree in Hospitality, Business or related.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, MBA, or related field from a regionally accredited university/college and three years of related experience of University Student Housing or Student Affairs experience preferred. Experience with writing SQL statements, databases, RMS, StarRez and process improvement practices are a plus.
