In this role you are responsible to identify, evaluate, and develop business opportunities to grow Lonza-CHI leading share in the oral dosage marketplace. Works closely with divisional and regional business leaders in order to identify and select strategic business opportunities and to define effective plans to secure growth for Lonza CHI by targeting not only the traditional hard capsule needs, but to look for ways to develop business through strategy and innovation, via services offered by our newly created Innovaform Lab, conventional pharmaceutical houses, biotech and other non-traditional hard capsule companies. Assist in analyzing Lonza-CHI market to identify strategic opportunities designed to enhance the overall business. Coordinate assigned cross functional projects between Sales/NPD/R&D/Operations with the objective to grow the business. Responsible for establishing the market evaluation positioning and introduction of new products, services, and technologies in the region. Will be part of the Lonza-CHI North American Commercial Team and will liase with the Global R&D team.
The key objective of the role is to focus on growing the pipeline of customer projects and building the networks and relationships that opens up growth opportunities and create value for the customer and Lonza-CHI. Strong Business Development skills will enable working with customers to ensure the successful development of new products and growth initiatives. At times, the role might also require troubleshooting when needed and the energy and responsiveness to rapidly resolve issues as they arise while always keeping customer's satisfaction at the highest. A technical background in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Science(s) is required, as well as a good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry in the targeted territories.
A close working relationship must be maintained with colleagues within Lonza-CHI Pharma Sales Team-North America to coordinate projects and developments. This includes coordination with the North America Sales and Business Development team as well as close liaison to the global Lonza CHI-R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
Position is expected to be home office based with near access to major airports.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
Responsible for generating new business & expansion of the customer base through direct customer visits
Must be able to generate and close new business opportunities by promoting current technologies and emerging technologies as they become available
Identifies market trends, assesses market potential and develops strategies to grow Lonza's market share in the Pharma Industry
Makes presentations and implements development projects at pharma customers, sets in place the required project plans and executes the plan and closes new business
Generates occasional thought leadership technical white papers, posters or articles that promotes Lonza-CHI and comfortable presenting to large audiences
Provides timely customer support and defines and interfaces with internal resources, when necessary
Works with Lonza marketing, sales and product development to develop strategies that ensures Lonza's position as a multi products solution provider for customers' existing products and new product introductions
Ability to manage interaction with all levels of customer from R&D- to- executive leadership
Available for travel up to 40% as needed
Key Requirements:
A degree in a scientific discipline, with a focus on Pharmaceuticals or Chemistry, is required. A postgraduate qualification in Business or a Technical field is highly preferred
An MBA or advanced degree is considered a valuable asset.
Extensive experience in oral Phamaceutical formulation development
In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, lifecycle management, and the regulatory landscape is required, as well as an established
Established network with key stakeholders in the CDMO, generics, and originator sectors
Proven ability to identify emerging pharmaceutical market trends and develop strategic action plans to capitalize on these trends

The full-time base annual salary for this remote position is expected to range between $130,500.00 and $152,250.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
