Product Support Engineer - Aviation Hardware (Finance)
Overview
We are seeking a full-time Product Support Engineer - Aviation Hardware in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for driving improvements in factory yield, product failure analysis, product sustainability and quality.
Essential Functions
- Support parts obsolescence, replacement part qualification, parts shortages, and Product Change Notifications (PCN) throughout product life cycle
- Perform root cause and corrective action on returned fielded products
- Perform analysis/identify trends impacting reliability across multiple products
- Improve manufacturability of existing products through continuous improvement strategies, such as improving first pass yield, improving test efficiency, etc.
- Use documented hardware change management processes to implement product design changes as needed for improved manufacturability
- Proficiently use troubleshooting and general EE tools (ex. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)
- Thoroughly document analysis/findings in an organized manner
- Effectively communicate information and recommendations with key stakeholders
- Work efficiently across a multi-disciplinary team including design engineering, quality engineering, reliability engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver optimized solutions
- Monitor Aviation Field Quality Concerns (AFQC) return data and determine root cause corrective actions to improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) on products
- May be a Project Engineer for an existing product redesign effort with minor changes
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated ability with electrical engineering tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturability and reliability
- Understanding of reliability and process statistical analysis (FMEA, MTBF, first pass yield, Cp/Cpk)
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
- Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products
