The primary purpose of the Laundry Manager is to manage all mail room, laundry/linen related functions and staff. This includes, but not limited to receiving and delivery, inventory management, training, and project management.
Minimum Required: Associates Degree or
Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Required 1 - 2 Years Equivalent experience
Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience
Assists in the implementation of laundry/linen and internal mail distribution programs which are designed to provide clean linen. Regularly inspects completed work and produces QC reports. Recommends new methods to improve overall performance. Assists in the development of staffing assignments which will ensure efficient, cost-effective distribution of linen. - 25%
Develops and executes the daily activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with customer expectations, service requirements, and objectives. Develops and maintains an organizational structure and staffing schedules. Monitor workflow and daily operation of the department. Develops effective facility relations through formal and informal programs, both verbal and written. Establishes and maintains inventory levels in accordance with set standards and in coordination with hospital departments; calculates par level, determines stocking process, and monitors both for efficient supply.- 25%
Develops and maintains documentation and other criteria as required by all regulatory agencies. - 5%
Establishes operating standards and implements quality improvements. Develops policies and procedures to meet operational demands. - 10%
Implements inventory control procedures by recommending types of supplies to be ordered, quantity, and timing of orders. Maintains appropriate records to track inventory levels, items ordered, and related costs. - 15%
Secures and develops supervisors and associates through training so they can meet performance standards. Evaluates and counsels personnel on work performance. Makes recommendations for hiring and termination of associates. - 20%
