Staff Services Analyst I (R&D)
LEVEL I AND II DIFFERENTIATION:
The key differentiation between levels is years of experience in the role and level of progressive responsibility within this classification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide customer service and perform related duties including answering general transit questions and selling passes; receive complaints and direct information to appropriate personnel as needed.
Assist with various public outreach duties related to department as needed.
Responsible for department analytics and statistical reporting to include program projections, data mining research, program quantitative analysis, making recommendations on program improvements based on data and trending.
Compile, prepare and input data related to assigned activities; compile Ridership Reports for various reports and presentations; gather data from the Agent Vehicle Logistics (AVL) system for liquidated damages; ensure accuracy of input data.
Prepare and maintain various reports related to assigned activities; assist with the preparation of public information documents; assist with assigned transit reporting including gathering data for required monthly reports and annual reports for FTA and Caltrans.
Perform various duties related to technical aspects of transit department including assisting with the video monitoring system, updating assigned apps, updating the website, and generating videos for monitors on buses; assist with assigned transit technologies and planning and scheduling tools.
Provide input for purchase recommendations for Transit department.
Give presentations for the public regarding transit information and assigned activities; generate schedule brochures for routes as assigned.
Assist with scheduling and planning transit routes as assigned; gather ridership data, generate and modify routes, accordingly, generate route schedules and update routes in assigned programs.
Communicate with staff and various outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns; represent department with the public, community organizations and other government agencies.
Provide oral and written translation and interpretation of correspondence, forms, letters, reports, and other materials from English to a designated second language from clear copy, rough draft and oral dictation as assigned by the position; ensure accuracy of translated materials.
Operate a variety of standard office equipment including multimedia devices, a computer and assigned software; drive a vehicle to conduct work as assigned.
Provide training to assigned personnel as required.
Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: Associate's degree related to municipal government, or a related field and two (2) years of progressive experience related to transit, customer service or a related field.
*Progressively responsible professional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses and other Requirements:
Valid California Class C driver's license.
Some incumbents in this classification may be required to be proficient in English and a designated second language and pass an oral and written proficiency test in a designated second language.
Knowledge of:
