Armament Shop Technician (Manufacturing)
PKL Services Inc. is contracted to maintain and operate Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG and United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E aircraft and equipment assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing located at Mountain Home AFB (MHAFB), Idaho. PKL employees at this site are subject to a Union/Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding employment terms and work rules.
The Armament Shop Technician is responsible for performing off-equipment maintenance on F-15E/SG aircraft racks, gun systems, pylons, launchers, dispensers, and suspended equipment as necessary and on-aircraft emergency de-arming of hung munitions or jammed guns.
Other key responsibilities include:
Perform armament functions as defined in AFMAN 21-206 and DAFI 21-101 for all assigned weapons, Normally Installed Equipment (NIE), and AME. Track, repair, modify, maintain, and perform off-equipment maintenance for aircraft armament systems, guns, pylons, racks, launchers, ammunition loading assemblies, adapters, and suspension equipment assets. Maintain and repair all related support and test equipment used to accomplish the work IAW specific aircraft or equipment end item TO or manuals. Coordinate with PS&D to ensure all inspections, TCTOs, time changes, maintenance and repair actions for aircraft armament systems suspension and release components and AME, including AME items preloaded with munitions for contingencies are scheduled and performed. Perform off-equipment inspections on ammunition loading assemblies and systems, aircraft gun systems, NIE, AME, including bomb dispensing units and F2 or similar trailer chassis IAW equipment specific TOs. Coordinate activities with the respective 428 FS/ MX when activities include items installed on the aircraft.
Respond to notification of potentially unsafe aircraft due to jammed guns and/or hung munitions(s) and/or ordnance(s) and coordinate actions with emergency response teams to assist load teams as requested by the expediter. For jammed guns, hung munitions, and jammed ammunition loading assemblies, be responsible for performing safe-for-maintenance procedures for the armament system IAW the aircraft or equipment-specific TO. Perform duties as defined by applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), along with any USAF like functions typically performed within their associated career field. Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Prior qualified/certified 7-level Aircraft Armament Systems Craftsman or equivalent with a minimum six (6) years previous experience in weapons loading/maintenance and armament flight duties.
Experience handling low explosive items and prior explosives safety training.
Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit. Normal color/depth perception and no record of emotional instability are required. May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area. Office/shop environment, hangar and flightline The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
